RCIC-IRB is a specialized class of licence issued by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). A standard RCIC can prepare immigration applications, but only an RCIC-IRB is authorized to represent clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. That covers all four IRB divisions: the Refugee Protection Division, the Refugee Appeal Division, the Immigration Division and the Immigration Appeal Division. In practice, it means we can appear at your hearing and argue your case, not just help you fill out the forms beforehand.

Yes. As a licensed RCIC-IRB, we represent claimants at Refugee Protection Division hearings — preparing your Basis of Claim narrative, assembling country condition evidence and disclosure, preparing you and any witnesses for questioning, and making submissions to the Board member on the day of the hearing.

A refusal is not always final. Depending on how your claim was made, you may have a right of appeal to the Refugee Appeal Division (RAD), where new evidence can sometimes be introduced. Other avenues include an application for judicial review at the Federal Court, a Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA), or a Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) application. All of these run on short, firm deadlines, so contact us as soon as you receive a decision — the sooner we see your file, the more options remain open.

Yes, and this is time-critical. Detention reviews are held before the Immigration Division on a fixed schedule after detention begins, and each one is an opportunity to seek release. We represent detainees at these reviews, help prepare a release plan, and work with proposed bondspersons on the terms and conditions the Board will consider. Call us as early as you can.

Express Entry processing typically takes 6-8 months from profile creation to landing in Canada. However, processing times can vary based on individual circumstances, the specific program stream, and IRCC workload. Our team works to ensure your application is complete and optimized to avoid delays.

There is no fixed minimum CRS score for Express Entry. The cut-off score varies with each draw, typically ranging from 450-500 points for general draws, though category-based draws may have different thresholds. We can help identify strategies to improve your score, including provincial nomination (which adds 600 points), improving language scores, or gaining Canadian work experience.

Yes. Note that the OINP changed substantially in 2026: Ontario closed all of its previous streams — including Human Capital Priorities, Skilled Trades, Masters Graduate and the employer job offer categories — and replaced them with the Ontario Workforce Priority Stream, which uses a new expression of interest and scoring model. If you were preparing an application under one of the old streams, it is worth speaking with us about where that leaves you. A provincial nomination still adds 600 points to an Express Entry profile.
